Position Title: Bioinformatician II

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Bioinformatics or related field from an accredited univemity Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics or closely related field.

Experience:Minimum of two (2) years working experience in fields within Bioinformatics units in Support of scientific research.

Job Descriptions / Responsibilities:

• Under the general supervision of Bioinformatician I, assist in the day-to-day operations of the Bioinformatics Unit, such as data storage, data warehousing and analyzing the DNA sequences using IT tools.
  
• Cooperate with the Bioinformatics and Database team and be actively involved in the development of new software as well as development and maintenance of specihc areas of the yu P³R line.
  
• Provide support in the development, vetting and implementation of Bioinformatics tools and methods for efficient storage, retrieval and sharing of data to end-users.
  
• Data mining and development of system for Diagnostic kits, Bioinformatics Software, Proteomics & Genomics.
  
• Mining of sequence data to identify correlations with biological data.
  
• Interact and collaborate with BDS-IT Unit to facilitate data storage, synthesis and communication.
  
• Assist researchers in analyzing problems and recommend solutions to meet the computational needs of research projects.
  
• Perform other job related duties as required.
