Education: B.E. (Mechanical Engineering) from a recognized University
Experience: Minimum 10 years of progressive experience of system design pertaining to HVAC, Mechanical and Plumbing systems in a large multi-size organization including 4 to 5 years at management level.
Job Descriptions / Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic planning support to University management in design related activities for Utilities Master Planning Projects.
- Supervise fabrication and installation of Mechanical, HVAC and plumbing works to ensure compliance with Design specifications and institutional standards.
- Review Contractor’s regular Mechanical & Plumbing works at site on day to day basis with respect to design, specifications, quality and time schedule.
- Manage day-to-day co-ordination of MEP consultants and assist Director Design in ensuring co-ordination with architectural & interior design elements.
- Coordinate with Architects, Engineers, Contractors and others as required for implementation of work on site.
- Participate in construction and project management meetings; suggest improvement on design, drawings, specifications and BOQs to realize high quality of construction.
- Check Bills / Quantities of work done by Contractor along with cost estimates.
- Ensure staff safety at work, property and the existing services. Make necessary arrangement to ensure construction site free of hazard and avoid un-safe practices.
- Imparts and commits to ongoing training and development of staff to enhance their technical capacity within the department through various trainings and on-the-job teachings.
- Recommend strategies to users and ensure consistency of solution and promote a high level of output both functionally and creatively for these customers’ work within the set parameters.
- Review current processes and systems for further improvements. Implement design related innovative ideas in order to achieve cost reductions.
Skills:
- Mechanical / plumbing design knowledge & Understanding of construction market, materials and contractors.
- Expected to independently take decisions for operational activities, subject to policies and procedures.
- Ability to deliver effectively under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines.
- Ability to work with cross disciplinary and cross cultural teams both in a team setting and independently.
- Display high level of initiative, reliability and maturity in problem solving skills.
- Supervisory skills and Team Leadership qualities to independently lead a multidiscipline team of Engineers.
