Education: Masters / Bachelor’s in Engineering in Civil / Electrical / Mechanical or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 6 to 8 years’ experience of project management in construction or maintenance preferably in education, healthcare, research or public health sectors.
Job Descriptions / Responsibilities:
- The project manager will be overall responsible to identify Deferred Maintenance Projects (DMPs) in collaboration with the users; develop cost estimates for each project and implement approved projects within the specified time lines and allocated budgets. Carry out renovation of facilities and its related engineering services and assess and recommend replacement of medical and non-medical equipment’s while reviewing their current use of spaces and possible utilization of latest technology in order to achieve efficiency in the system. Reporting to Senior Manager Construction Projects, the incumbent will be overall responsible to:
- Plan, design and construction for Deferred Maintenance Projects (DMPs) for assigned areas.
- Provide direction and oversees all processes and systems for project planning, implementation and monitoring.
- Develop project execution plan and scope documents by ensuring on-schedule project completion through effective controls and action.
- Ensure effective monitoring over cost control, cost trending and forecasting the project cost.
- Monitor project schedules and ensure on-schedule project completion through effective controls and actions.
- Develop contracts for each project. Negotiate and manage contracts with contractors and consultants. Select contractors and sub-contractors to award works.
- Coordinate with Design team for up-gradation of architectural design of existing facilities and to ensure that designs are produced on schedule as per requirements of projects for new and ecstatic look.
- Monitoring the specifications, requisitioning, ordering and delivery of owner furnished equipment and material for timely incorporation into the works.
- Collaborate with relevant stake holders such as design, construction, maintenance, procurement, finance, Warehousing, planning & cost engineering and others in carrying out the responsibilities.
- Ensure inspection of works at closer of projects by all stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of projects and also complete all documents including as built drawings, O&M manuals etc., are completed timely and handed over to operating team.
- Ensure staff safety at work, property and the existing services. Make necessary arrangement to ensure construction site free of hazard and avoid un-safe practices.
- Ensure to avoid disruption of hospital operational services during work execution.
- Experience of project management, process improvement and budget management is essential; Certification in Project Management would be a definite asset.
- Must be equipped with the techniques of handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances / conflicts and also negotiating with the consultants.
- Excellent knowledge of all the planning tools as well as Mechanical, Electrical & Control fields.
